Snow Caving

On Feb. 12-13 Millville Troop 27 went snow caving near the summit on the border between Rich and Cache counties. The weather conditions were cold, windy, and snowy at times. The scouts worked very hard at finishing the snow caves. The team work effort was superb, some dug and others shoveled the snow out of the caves. After digging we ate hot soap in the trailer and returned to the caves for sleeping. Everyone reported to have slept warmly. In the morning we had to dig out of two feet of fresh blown snow. We hauled out our gear and ate hot oatmeal in the trailer. Thanks to Brother Hancock for taking photos and Brother Davis for his snow caving expertise.
